Born in Svendborg, Copenhagen, Annette graduated from the University of Copenhagen and also attended the University of Santander in Spain and business school in Zurich, Switzerland. While doing graduate work in languages at Cambridge University in England, she received a Fulbright Scholarship to study at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Since then, she has become a U. S. citizen and has enjoyed living in Arkansas and Texas.
Annette is very involved in the Little Rock community. She has been appointed by the Governor to the Breast Cancer Control Board and has been involved with Little Rock's "Race for the Cure" for seven years as a survivor and past chairman. The current president of the Friends of the Arts Board at the University of Arkansas, Annette is also a board member of the Symphony Guild and a member of the Rotary Club, the Aesthetic Club and the Arkansas Women's Leadership Forum.
Annette's family has been involved with horses for four generations. Her own riding began at the age of 12 in dressage and she continues to enjoy riding for pleasure. Annette lives on a farm with horses, cats and her dog "Madeline." Her hobbies include fly-fishing, hiking and swimming.
